Please do your part in ending the suffering in Puppymills.
Many Puppymills advertise online amidst loving, reputable and responsible Hobby Breeders. Ask for references and follow up. If at all possible, visit the Breeder's home. Do not purchase puppies, nor even supplies from Pet Stores that sell puppies. Most of these puppies in Pet Stores come from Puppymills. Some purchase the puppy out of sympathy, but in doing so, profit the Puppymill and the suffering continues. (All the more reason to stay out of such Pet Stores.) Research Puppymills. Visit the link. Let's work together to end the suffering!

With the recent dog food recalls, I began an extensive search for a high quality food for our pugs, and for one that had NO links at all with any of the recalled ones. I found and highly recommend Eagle Pack Holistic Selects Food ! We have found this to be the best food we have ever given our Pugs. We love the fact that it contains no corn, wheat, dyes, artificial preservatives nor chemicals. We have been feeding the Chicken Meal and Rice formula, which is an all life stages formula. That makes it less confusing, with our pugs of different ages. The first ingredient is chicken meal. Some of the other ingredients are anchovy, sardine and salmon meals, menhaden fish oil, brown rice, oatmeal, tomato pomace, carrots, peas, apples, prebiotics, probiotics, and digestive enzymes. It even has blueberries, a proven anti-oxidant for eye health and cranberries for urinary tract health. Our pugs love the taste! We think it has wonderful ingredients and benefits our Pug's health (we have seen results)...and as they say, "You are what you eat". Read the ingredients, compare, and again RESEARCH.
Lately,we have been unable to find this food locally. We instead began feeding our pugs "Chicken Soup For The Puppy Lover's Soul", the dry kibble . I have found the ingredients to be very similar and like the ingredients in this food also.
We have also had the very same results feeding this to the pugs, ie: the pugs have firm stools, they are non-gassy, they aren't eating any more than before, their eyes are bright and clear, their coats are full and soft, and their energy levels are the same..and they seem to REALLY like it! All in all, I would have to say that the Chicken Soup is just as good a food! We are able to buy it locally, it costs less and for all of the above reasons added to the cost of fuel, we may continue to feed the Chicken Soup For The Puppy Lover's Soul. I chose to feed all of them the puppy formula because it has more salmon oil and I like the protein/fat ratio. I would highly recommend either food.
