"Hatch Headlines"
We have added a beautiful, show quality male to our family and plan to get our show ring feet wet, showing him. Meng joined us in July 2007.He was a birthday gift from my husband, and my best birthday gift to date! He is a smart little guy, managing to work his way into our bed in record time.(Way to go,Meng Buddy!) Watch for updates on his show career in 2008!
Meng became a "daddy" on March 10th, 2008!
Meng is now a celebrity,(of sorts). His photos will be seen worldwide,as he is in a 2008 pug calendar!! Yes,Mengs previous owner was at the right place and right time, and seven photos taken of Meng when he was a puppy made it into a Pug Calendar!! I am so proud of my little guy!!
June 2008: WOW! I just purchased a 2008/2009 Pug Planner and found my Meng pictured also in it two times!!! What a cute, and apparently popular, little "Calendar Guy" we have!
|
Meng's mom and dad are AKC Champions,as are a total of 52 in his 5 generation pedigree(62 total pugs) My husband, our youngest daughter and I will soon be taking handling (exhibition) classes together. We will be working with Meng,Elli and another little pug girl ,Bitsy, who joined our family in November 2007.

Bitsy at 7 weeks

Bitsy came to us from a very dear show breeder in the Northeast. We feel very blessed that she would entrust a puppy to us from such nice lines and feel equally as blessed,in being able to adopt our Meng.Bitsy's mom and dad are beautiful AKC Champions, also.(Photos will be posted later, with permission) We are looking to have fun in showing our pugs and make it fun for the pugs, strutting their stuff in the ring, while bringing honor to God,Hatch Haven and the show breeders who are welcoming us into this venture and allowing us to adopt these beautiful babies from them!Thank you and God bless you,Nancy and Wendy!

Announcing the first Patoka Pug to earn an AKC Ribbon!!!
Congratulations Wille and Puggles! We are SO proud of both of you!!
From Willie:
June 11, 2008
"...Puggles is registered in her first AKC agility trial in SanAntonio in July. She has advanced to the intermediate level in her agility class. She just loves agility.... Willie"
July 17, 2008
"Hi Rhonda, great news!!!! Puggles came home with a Third Place Ribbon and a Que from the AKC sanctioned San Antonio Agility Trial held July 10 - 13. This was a very prestigious show and the fact that she got a ribbon and que on our very FIRST trial was quite an accomplishment. We had such fun, Puggles just LOVES agility. Hope all is well with you and yours. Willie"

Our littlest star and angel, Gabriel!
|
Gabriel will be 20 weeks old on Monday, July 29th!
He ate his first puppy kibble today, July 27th, whole ( not ground!) and soaked until soft in puppy formula. He also had a few bites of ground beef and chopped beef liver. He is drinking water from his hamster bottle, also, and weighs almost 2 pounds now. We are very hopeful that this little guy will catch up in size to his litter mates (or at least be close in size)...and prayerful that he will be 100% ok and live a long and healthy life! We would like to see him eating dry kibble and possibly avoid even having the surgical correction.
Gabriel is our little pug puppy that was born with a cleft palate. There was no way that I could have him euthanized. Thanks to a website that I found, I learned how to do all that I could to keep Gabriel going and how to possibly even prevent aspiration pneumonia. Contact me if you would like further information.
As said on this helpful website regarding saving cleft palate puppies...."They ARE worth saving!"
Gabriel and I thank you for your prayers!

A New Baby Boy!!!!
We have added a new member to our pug family! His name is Petro and he is from Trinity Kennels. He is adorable, spunky, very intelligent and of course, beautiful! We are very proud of him and honored to now own him.He is from very nice lines of finished AKC Champions on both his sire's and dam's side. His sire is a finished Champion as are most of the pugs in his lineage. I will soon post his pedigree, once we have him registered. We are planning on showing him and hopeful that he will do well...I just need to decide if we are going to show our pugs ourselves or hire a handler. (It's just so difficult to think of any of them being gone with someone else! ) In the meantime, we are looking forward to Conformation/Handling classes starting up again.
Thank you Angela, for this wonderful little boy! He is very socialized, much loved and a wonderful addition to our family!

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not shouting 'I'm clean livin', I'm whispering 'I was lost, Now I'm found and forgiven.'
When I say... 'I am a Christian' I don't speak of this with pride. I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.
When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not trying to be strong. I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.
When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not bragging of success. I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.
When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not claiming to be perfect, My flaws are far too visible but, God believes I am worth it.
When I say... 'I am a Christian' I still feel the sting of pain..I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name.
When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not holier than thou, I'm just a simple sinner Who received God's good grace, somehow!
