Its a  New hopes, new dreams and challenges! We have finally rebuilt, from the fire that destroyed our home in April of 2009, and plan to have some pugs back in Conformation Class very soon!  Still some work to do on the homefront, but we are making progress.
This area with the large window is between the new house and garage/cottage and connects the two structures. It is accessable from the entry just inside the house. This will be the new "Pug Room", a larger than before area with additional features including a grooming area with tub for bathing and a play area for older puppies. (I hesitate to show it at this point, amidst all of the construction chaos and mess, but I am pretty excited to see it finally coming together...consider this a "Before" photo with the "After" to follow.)
A little more progress! Area just beyond the courtyard(entry with pillars)is our 17 X 22 Pug Room.
Our new cabinets in the Pug Room! (The entry into the house is just beyond on the right)
View into Pug Room from main entry into our new house
"A Pug's Eye View" (This is the view the pugs have toward the front of the house...hence they see guests before we do!)
July 2010...PROGRESS!!!
Almost finished!!
Almost finished!!
Sorrow looks back
   Worry looks around
     Faith looks up!

We were unable to show Bitsy.
Our home was destroyed in a fire three days before the Show.
We are grateful that no one was injured.
Our 19 year old daughter was home alone
and had started the dryer,
which caused the fire.
My husband and I made it home
within 7 minutes of receiving her call.
At that time, the north end of the house
was already in flames and the
entire house was engulfed in appx 20
minutes. The only thing that was saved
was the south end of our back deck
and our outbuildings. We were able
to rescue 9 of the 10 pugs.
I am thankful that we had doggy doors
and that the pugs were able to get out
of the house,as the fire began in the
room next to theirs.
Our Chloe is still missing, but there
is a possibility that she may have
escaped before the fire began.
My oldest daughter, who lives in the
area, was at our home doing laundry.
When she was ready to leave she told
my grand-daughter to get her shoes
on and go to the car.My daughter
then went to the back of the house
to get something out of Natalies room.
When she got back to the entry,
Natalie had left the door open.
We are clinging to hope that Chloe
is still alive and that someone will
find her and return her to us.
There is a 500.00 reward for her return.
On a positive note...
If my daughter had not started
the dryer,I would have done so at
bedtime and it is very doubtful
that any of us would have had
time to escape.
We are trying to look not at what
was lost, but at all of our many blessings...especially our lives
being saved.
Thank you to all of you for
your support,encouragement
and prayers.
I will try to keep the website
and hope to have good news about
Chloe soon.
God bless all of you. Take nothing
for granted. It can all be gone in
30 minutes or less.

We still have some
pretty areas remaining,
although there is a lot
of clean up to do.
Some things were not
destroyed. I am even
thankful for some of
the hosta plants, day
lillies and a couple
of the rose bushes
that remain...
and of course,
the memories can
never be destroyed.
We truly have much
to be thankful for.

Christmas 2008

The decor will not
be the same,
but we will still have
our family together...
and a beautiful
Christmas 2009.
We have the things
that matter the most
remaining in our lives,
and for that
I thank God daily.

Life isnt about trying to survive the storms...
It's learning to dance
         in the rain !

April 2009

Bitsy has been entered
in her first AKC
Conformation Show.
This will be at the
Gateway Cluster
the first weekend
in May 2009.
She is entered for
both the Saturday
and Sunday show
and will be handled
(exhibited) by my
(Thank you,Honey!!!)

Meng and Bitsy are now
 going to
Conformation /Handling
Classes, in preparation
to be shown in AKC
Conformation events.
Bitsy was a bit shy at
her first class, but Meng
did excellently!
He and Bitsy surprised
...they both did just the
opposite of what I
I am now even more
about Meng's
show career!

 Our Tia has moved!

"Hatch Haven's My Funny Valentine", AKA Tia,
is now living with my oldest daughter, grand-daughter
and son-in-law.
Tia, born Christmas Eve,
was my 2008 Valentine's gift
...and she exemplifies love.
Having now given her to my daughter,Tia is
once more
a gift of love!
My daughter
and 11 year old
have wanted
a pug for years.
They recently decided
that a young
house trained and
"out of the puppy stage"
pug would
suit them better.
My daughter had admired
Tia last year, which led me
to begin considering letting
her have
Tia...then my
sent me a message
"Mema, I want a puggy!"
Within a week, and 5 days
before my daughter's
birthday, I delivered
Tia to them!

They are thrilled with her
and Tia is loving sleeping
with my grand-daughter,
 and playing with Cowboy,
their "Ja-Ra-Hua".
He is a playful little Jack Russell/Rat Terrier/
and Chihuahua mix
and is quite smitten
with Miss Tia!
Tia is a very intelligent
and pretty girl.
We are hoping that
my grand-daughter may eventually show her
in agility.
Tia LOVES a challenge!
She is currently working on learning to say
"Mama" and
can now almost
say it!!

"Hi Rhonda, great news!!!! Puggles came home with a Third Place Ribbon and a Que from the  AKC sanctioned San Antonio Agility Trial held July 10 - 13.  This was a very prestigious show and the fact that she got a ribbon and que  on our very FIRST trial was quite an accomplishment.  We had such fun, Puggles just LOVES agility.

The best news of all!

When I say...  'I am a Christian' I'm not shouting 'I'm clean livin', I'm whispering 'I was lost,  Now I'm found and forgiven.'

When I say...  'I am a Christian' I don't speak of this with pride. I'm confessing that I  stumble and need Christ to be my guide.

When I say...  'I am a Christian' I'm not trying to be strong. I'm professing that I'm  weak and need His strength to carry on.

When I say...  'I am a Christian' I'm not bragging of success. I'm admitting I have failed  and need God to clean my mess.

When I say...  'I am a Christian' I'm not claiming to be perfect, My  flaws are far too visible but, God believes I am worth it.

When I say...  'I am a Christian' I still feel the sting of pain..I have my share of  heartaches, so I call upon His name.

When I say...  'I am a Christian' I'm not holier than thou, I'm just a  simple sinner Who received God's good grace, somehow!

That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus  is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
